- Inspected vehicle on hoist and scanned for codes. Found P0420- catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1, and P1326- knock sensor plausibility. Found engine in limp mode, unable to accelerate above 10 mph. Inspected engine oil and found it in normal range. Found manufacturer tsb ( technical service bulletin) related to the P1326 code which states the check engine light flashes when the system detects excess connecting rod bearing damage, and in order to prevent total engine failure places vehicle in limp mode, unable to accelerate normally. This engine condition usually calls for engine replacement. Manufacturer has extended warranty coverage on these engines, and replacement may be covered at dealership.
