- Road tested vehicle and scanned for codes. Found P0089- fuel pressure regulator performance, and P0191- fuel rail pressure sensor performance. These codes point to a possible high pressure fuel pump issue. After observing data on scan tool while operating vehicle found a difference between desired and actual fuel rail pressure, indicating a high pressure fuel pump issue. Also found the HP fuel pump making excess noise with engine running. Customer advised us the HP fuel pump was replaced elsewhere within the last 6 months. Recommend returning to service center that previously replaced the pump for further evaluation.
- Found noise from HP fuel pump. Recommend removal and inspection of pump and camshaft surface which drives the pump.
