I specter truck on hoist and found the rear 2 piece driveshaft had a blown out center bearing, with all u-moints appearing original. Recommend driveshaft overhaul.
Inspected truck on hoist and found both sides had axle joints that were severely worn. Recommend replacement. Customer also supplied new Motorcraft wheel bearing to replace an existing older bearing.

Inspected vehicle on hoist and checked ac system pressure and found it much higher than spec. Recoved ac system charge and found it slightly below spec. Removed and inspected ac expansion valve as these are know to have issues and found minor debris inside. Replaced valve, charged system to spec and found ac system still had higher pressure than spec. Further inspection revealed a faulty low speed cooling fan that was inop at times causing only the high speed fans to operate. Replaced cooling fan assembly and now found the low speed cooling fans operational while ac is on, and system pressures back in spec.
Mounted onto firewall of vehicle.Had metal shavings inside valve after inspecting.
Service air conditioner. Check condition of all belts and lines. Evacuate and recharge with reclaimed R-134. Test system performance and add dye tracer for possible future leaks in system.
Confirmed customer complaint and gained access to ignition key cylinder/ ignition switch. Was able to tap on key cylinder and the chime would go away. Removed ignition key cylinder and found the chime would still go off at times. Further inspection revealed a worn out ignition switch which sits behind the key cylinder and was causing the chime. Replaced the ignition switch and found the chime now gone with the ignition key out.

AFTER CHECKING VEHICLE NO ENGINE LIGHT ON UPON ENTRY WE THEN SCANNED FOR HISTORY CODES AND FOUND SYSTEM HAD CODE #P051B CRANKCASE PSI SENSOR CIRCUIT. WE THEN CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THIS VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPED WITH THIS SENSOR. RECOMMEND CUSTOMER TAKE TO DEALER FOR DIAG AND REPAIR.

After test driving confirmed customers noise concern and found right rear wheel bearing making noise. Replaced bearing vehicles noise is now gone. Customers warranty had just expired so we took the liberty to work with customer on pricing.
Road tested vehicle and inspected on hoist. Found RR wheel bearing had slight play resulting in noise. Replaced defective wheel bearing, test drove vehicle, and found the noise gone.

Inspected vehicle and found gearshift assembly worn out and not sending signal to dash to shut down with key off in park. Recommend gearshift assembly replacement as starting point.

Scanned for coded and found multiple codes including P0301- cylinder #1 misfire, P0304- cylinder #4 misfire, P0316- misfire detected on startup, P068A- ECM/PCM power relay de-energized, and P06B8- internal control module non volatile random access memory error. Started with inspecting spark plug condition and found them worm out and recommend replacement as a starting point to address misfire concerns. The P068A and P06B8 codes may have resulted from the electrical draw problem. recommend clearing these codes and drive vehicle for a period of time to see if they return.
