Services Performed
- Checked and corrected tire pressures. Using scan tool checked tire pressure system for trouble codes and found none. This indicates a sensor initialization issue. Reset system and drove vehicle for a period of time between 30-60 mph for a short period. May require further driving as manual states after reset vehicle to be driven 30-60 mph for 20 minutes or more, which may require highway driving, and is difficult to perform in urban driving conditions. If light returns vehicle may require further evaluation.
- Test drove vehicle and inspected on hoist. Scanned for codes and found P0341- camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor incorrect phase detected. Inspected related circuits and connections and found no faults. Inspected camshaft sensor electrical waveform using scan tool and found no obvious issues. Inspected engine oil level and condition and found no issues. Cleared codes and drove vehicle multiple times and was unable to duplicate condition that caused trouble code in the first place. Issue appears intermittent at this time. Next morning we started the vehicle from a cold start and heard a timing chain rattle noise, checked for codes, and found the P0341 code returned, indicating a timing chain issue. The procedure for replacement calls for specialized tools and procedures, recommend dealership for these repairs.
