- Inspected vehicle on hoist and found cooling fans inop while commanded on using scan tool. Checked for power and grounds to fans and found them present, indicating faulty cooling fan assembly. After replacing fan assembly found new fan still did not operate when commanded with scan tool, but power and grounds where still present. After further diag found fans would operate when applying battery voltage directly to fan assembly. This indicates an amperage problem , as voltage is present, but lacks amperage to operate fans. Traced wiring back to TIPM fuse box with no obvious issues found. The TIPM box controls the fan assembly, as well as various other systems. The TIPM fuse box is known to have high failure rates, and produce various electrical issues. Called dealership and found the TIPM on national back order at this time. Recommend dealership for further diag/repairs at this point.
