  • Road tested vehicle and scanned for codes. Found P0089- fuel pressure regulator performance, and P0191- fuel rail pressure sensor performance. These codes point to a possible high pressure fuel pump issue. After observing data on scan tool while operating vehicle found a difference between desired and actual fuel rail pressure, indicating a high pressure fuel pump issue. Also found the HP fuel pump making excess noise with engine running. Customer advised us the HP fuel pump was replaced elsewhere within the last 6 months. Recommend returning to service center that previously replaced the pump for further evaluation.
  • Found noise from HP fuel pump. Recommend removal and inspection of pump and camshaft surface which drives the pump.

  • Test drove vehicle multiple times and was unable to duplicate customer concern. Inspected vehicle on hoist and after speaking with customer removed LF axle and inspected 4wd actuator and found minor metallic particles between wheel bearing, actuator, and axle. Found evidence of grinding on actuator itself, and very minor wear on wheel bearing teeth. Cleaned off remaining metallic particles, and filed away minor wear in wheel bearing teeth. Recommend replacing 4wd actuator, and rechecking vehicle operation.

MATCHED FRONT TIRE BRANDS AND BALANCE…TEST DROVE AGAIN AND CAR SEEMS FINE.JW. ALL FRONT END PARTS AND SUSPENSION IN GOOD CONDITION AT THIS TIME.
  • Inspected vehicle on hoist and scanned for codes. Found multiple EVAP system related codes including P0443- evap purge control circuit, P0456- evap system small leak, P0455- evap system large leak, and P0440- general evap system failure. After performing system diag found faulty purge valve, eism switch, and capless filler neck. After parts replacement, cleared codes, and performed evap system self test, and found vehicle now passed. Vehicle will still have to be driven for a period of time for the small leak self test monitor to run and clear.
