- Inspected vehicle on hoist. Scanned rear differential control module and found code # C0407- AWD oil pump motor actuator slipping. Inspected rear differential and found no obvious faults. Found oil present in rear differential. This codes indicated the rear differential oil pump motor is worn out and is serviced by replacing or rebuilding the rear differential which is done at dealership level due to specialized tools and procedures for reprogramming control modules.
- Road tested vehicle and scanned for codes. Found codes P0300- engine misfire detected, P0420- catalyst system low efficiency bank 1, and P0430-catalyst system low efficiency bank 2. Inspected ignition circuits and connections and found no faults. Removed and inspected spark plugs and found them worn out and due for replacement. Factory maintenance schedule states spark plugs should be changed at 100k miles. This should be first step in correcting the engine misfire problem. The Catalytic converters may also need replacement due to the engine misfiring, but the misfire issue needs to be addressed first. Customer declined further repairs at this time.
